Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 26, 2026
1. Service Description
SIGNEDBYME provides a cryptographic identity layer for autonomous agents. Our service enables:
- Self-signing cryptographic identity (DID) for agents
- Zero-knowledge membership proofs via Groth16
- OIDC-compatible authentication tokens
- Human-controlled delegation and revocation via NOSTR
- Bitcoin Lightning Network payment integration
SIGNEDBYME is operated by Privacy Lion LLC, a Florida limited liability company.
2. Subscription and Payment
The SIGNEDBYME service requires a monthly subscription of $12 USD (or equivalent in Bitcoin satoshis) per agent.
- Payment is made via Bitcoin Lightning Network
- Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance
- Revenue is allocated: 85% SIGNEDBYME, 15% Agent
- Failure to pay results in delegation expiration and loss of authentication capability
3. Human Owner Responsibilities
As a human owner authorizing an agent, you are responsible for:
- Safeguarding your NOSTR private key (nsec)
- Defining appropriate scopes and permissions for your agent
- Monitoring your agent's activity via public NOSTR events
- Revoking delegation (kind 38251) if your agent is compromised
- Maintaining accurate email mappings for enterprise enrollment
You retain sole authority to revoke agent access at any time by publishing a kind 38251 revocation event.
4. Agent Usage Rules
Agents using SIGNEDBYME must:
- Operate within the scopes defined by their human owner's delegation
- Not attempt to forge, modify, or replay cryptographic proofs
- Not attempt to access enterprises where they are not enrolled
- Store cryptographic material (DID, leaf_secret) securely
- Respect enterprise-defined access boundaries
5. Enterprise Integration
Enterprises integrating SIGNEDBYME agree to:
- Validate delegation chains via NOSTR before granting access
- Respect the privacy-preserving nature of zero-knowledge proofs
- Not attempt to correlate or deanonymize agent identities
- Maintain NIP-05 verification at their domain
- Handle OIDC tokens according to standard security practices
6. Intellectual Property and License
SIGNEDBYME software is source-available under the SIGNEDBYME Source-Available License v1.0 (SSAL-1.0).
- Until February 17, 2030: You may use, modify, test, fork, and contribute freely for personal projects, internal tools, research, and evaluation. You may NOT operate competing authentication services.
- From February 18, 2030: All restrictions end. Code becomes Apache License 2.0.
"SIGNEDBYME" and associated logos are trademarks of Privacy Lion LLC.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- Our total liability shall not exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding any claim
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
- We are not liable for lost profits, data loss, or business interruption
- We are not liable for actions of third-party services (Strike, NOSTR relays, enterprises)
- We provide the service "AS IS" without warranty of uptime or availability
You are solely responsible for securing your cryptographic keys. Loss of your nsec or leaf_secret cannot be recovered by SIGNEDBYME.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate:
- You: Stop paying subscription; publish kind 38251 revocation
- We: May terminate for violation of these terms, illegal activity, or abuse
Upon termination, your agent's leaf remains in the Merkle tree but delegation expires and authentication fails. No refunds for partial months.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via:
- NOSTR event from our official npub
- Update to this page with new effective date
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, revoke delegation and discontinue use.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida. You consent to personal jurisdiction in these courts.
